YouTube Channels for Marketers

Videos are becoming one of the best ways to consume content online.

And the great thing about it is that more and more interesting people are creating their own channels on YouTube where some truly great content is being consolidated. We actually got quite lost searching for and watching videos from a lot of great YouTube channels for marketers and suddenly eight seemed like a very small number.
But we’ve taken the ones which we were absolutely compelled to subscribe to and put it in this blog post. So if you’re lean on inspiration or need to stay on top of how to market yourself, subscribe to these eight channels:

TED talks

TED Talks is possibly one of the most thought-provoking and interesting channels you can subscribe to. It has talks ranging over a huge range of topics and they’re all given by some of the best speakers in the world. There are specific talks under marketing that you can filter and take a look at, but frankly the whole channel is fascinating.
Under marketing, take a look at the videos by Seth Godin, Malcolm Gladwell and Joseph Pine to get started.

Malcolm Gladwell

Malcolm Gladwell, the popular author of Blink and The Tipping Point, has some great stories to tell that will change your perception of marketing. He’s an engaging speaker and his videos are always worth watching. To get started, you can watch ‘Choice, Happiness, and Spaghetti Sauce’ where he talks about how companies need to cater to different choices rather than sticking to a universal product.

Derek Halpern

Derek Halpern, the man behind Social Triggers, has a channel that’s chock-full of practical tips like ‘The one question you must ask every new customer’ and ‘Should I use those annoying popups?’ His videos are well-made, lucid and are really quite useful if you’re looking for a tiebreaker on a marketing decision or want to know how to capture an audience and retain them. Subscribing to this YouTube channel for marketers is a decision you won’t regret.

If you’re a marketer, you’ve definitely heard of Moz. They have some insanely good products and they have one of the most useful and ground-breaking blogs in the industry. The Moz YouTube channel is equally great. You have brilliant Whiteboard videos with the likes of Rand Fishkin taking the time to explain SEO and marketing to you. You also get access to Moz’s video presentations and a peek into the Moz culture (including MozCon). You won’t get this anywhere else.

Ask Jay

Ask Jay is hosted by Jay Adelson, the founder and chairman of Revision3. He’s also the former CEO of Digg. His videos are very candid about entrepreneurship and everything that goes with it. He takes questions from his viewers and talks about them. He even did a video called ‘Fired as a CEO’ where he talks about…being fired as a CEO.

What can you get from the company that actually coined the term ‘inbound marketing’? Nothing but awesomeness. Hubspot’s video channel on YouTube is inspiring and gives you great insights on inbound marketing. They also have regular marketing updates on real-time topics like the Superbowl.

Marie TV

Marie Forleo describes herself as ‘part business strategist, part marketing maven and part spiritual ass-kicker with a side of hip-hop swagger’. She has an almost Oprah-esque show where she talks about marketing and also guest interviews famous people in the industry. She’s crazy, but always entertaining and you’ll definitely want to subscribe to this one.

This Week In Startups

Entrepreneur Jason Calacanis hosts ‘This Week In Startups’ and always has an interesting roster of experts on the guest list who can tell you the inside stories you want to hear from the world of web and technology. This is a great way to be in touch with what’s happening in the world of startups and entrepreneurship. If you’re planning to launch your own startup, Jason’s insightful interviews can be very helpful.
